Facilities in DHA Phase 2 Islamabad

Schooling is one of the main reasons families choose DHA Phase 2. The DHA Army Public School system (APS/APSACS) runs campuses inside the community, in Sector C, Sector F and Sector G, and several well-known private school chains are inside Phase 2 or a few minutes away.

Most institutions follow Cambridge O/A Levels or Matric with co-curricular programmes. Nearly every school is within a 5-minute drive, and several are walkable from residential streets, which keeps the school run short and safe inside the gated area.

Everyday healthcare is available inside every sector of Phase 2. Clinics, diagnostic labs and pharmacies sit in the sector commercial areas, and DHA administration runs a 24-hour ambulance service for residents.

For specialist and emergency care, several major hospitals are a short drive away. Fauji Foundation Hospital near DHA Phase 1 is about 5 km away, Riphah International Hospital and Islamabad Diagnostic Centre (IDC) are within 5–7 km, and Shifa International Hospital is a 15–20 minute drive.

Security is the facility most residents value first. Every one of the 7 entry gates is staffed by armed security personnel, and mobile patrol units cover the whole community day and night. CCTV cameras are installed sector by sector across streets and commercial zones.

Security staff carry walkie-talkies for rapid response, and a police post inside Phase 2 adds a law enforcement presence. Well-lit streets make it safe to walk in the evenings, and high-rise buildings such as Lignum Tower add their own building-level CCTV and intercom systems.

DHA Phase 2 is planned around green space. Sector B's Family Park is one of the largest open recreational areas in the community, with a walking track and children's play areas, and Central Park sits near Central Boulevard in Sector G.

Every sector has its own pocket parks, and all the major boulevards have landscaped green belt medians. Footpaths run on both sides of every road, so walking, jogging and cycling are safe throughout Phase 2.

Every sector in DHA Phase 2 has at least one mosque built for 300 or more worshippers, so prayer is always within walking distance. Sectors A and G each have three mosques, Sector F has two, and Sector B has a central mosque.

Sector F also sits close to the Rooftop Mosque of the Giga Mall Extension, and Sector C has mosques in each of its blocks.

Giga Mall, one of the largest malls in the twin cities, sits at the edge of Sector F next to Gate 1 on GT Road. It has 200+ brands, a Cinepax cinema, an international food court and a kids' play zone, and the Giga Mall Extension and Giga Boutique Mall next door add even more retail.

For daily needs, every sector has its own commercial market or marts. Sector A has fully developed commercial markets, Sector C's markets are among the busiest, Sector B has a sector shopping mall, and Sectors H and J have family marts and daily-needs shops.

Jacaranda Family Club (JFC) in Sector E is the community's premier leisure destination. It brings together a bowling alley, cinema, tennis courts, swimming pool, spa, gym and fitness centre, restaurants and wedding and event halls in one place.

Outside the club, residents have outdoor badminton and basketball courts, the DHA Tennis Court in Sector B, an outdoor cinema and the entertainment at Giga Mall. High-rise projects such as Lignum Tower and Central Palace Residence add their own gyms and sports facilities.

Central Boulevard in Sector G is the main food street of Phase 2, with McDonald's, Pizza Hut and Dasterkhwan Home. Sector F has Gloria Jean's Coffees and the Giga Mall food court, and Sector B is known for local cafés such as Zahoor Café, Abdul Karim Hotel and Snack Shack.

Every commercial market also has restaurants, cafés and bakeries, and Jacaranda Family Club has its own restaurants for members and families.

All main utilities in DHA Phase 2 are fully in place. Electricity runs through an underground supply and is available 24/7, natural gas is connected throughout, and water comes from tube wells and storage tanks with round-the-clock supply.

Fibre and broadband internet are available from Nayatel, PTCL and Transworld, and the sewerage and waste management system is fully functional. Underground cabling also keeps streets free of overhead wires.

Residents do not need to leave Phase 2 for banking. HBL, Allied Bank, Askari Bank, Summit Bank and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) all have a presence, with branches and ATMs in the commercial areas of Sectors A, F and G and at Giga Mall.

DHA Phase 2 sits between GT Road and the Islamabad Expressway, with guarded gates on both. Gates 1–4 open onto GT Road for Rawalpindi traffic, and Gates 5 and 7 connect to the Islamabad Expressway for the quickest route into Islamabad.

Inside, wide boulevards such as Central Boulevard, Jinnah Boulevard and Iqbal Boulevard link the sectors, with footpaths on both sides of every road. Rawalpindi is 10–15 minutes away and central Islamabad around 20–25 minutes.

Beyond the headline facilities, DHA Phase 2 has the services a complete town needs. A fire-fighting facility serves the community, waste collection and sewerage are fully functional, and a graveyard is located in Sector G.

For visitors and students, Sector H has guest houses for short stays and the ISR Boys Hostel. Building management in the high-rises handles lifts, power backup, cleaning and security for apartment owners.
